It was after a test conducted in six Health and Social Security departments in 2005 that the go-ahead was given for wide-scale national deployment.
Today more than 1,100 IER terminals are in use in various Health and Social Security branches for self-service printing of health forms and updating of “Carte Vitale” [French health insurance card] data.
This modular terminal, available in two versions (free standing and wall-mounted), is characterized by excellent accessibility for mobility-impaired persons and is designed for intensive use.
The terminal consists of various modules easily accessible for standard maintenance and operation.
Starting from a basic version, developments can be made to offer additional functions: keypad, biometric interfaces and readers (contactless cards, identity cards, barcodes, videoconferencing, etc.).
