2011-07-21 - Share, compare and discuss your vision of the airport of the future: a unique opportunity offered at IER’s 2011 Customer Forums.

On June 9 and 10, IER – the specialist in passenger and baggage processing solutions for the air transportation industry – brought together in Chicago the airlines and airports of North America around the theme “Flying through the airport”.

IER’s Customer Forums present a unique occasion to share and compare current experience, to give an overview of innovative airport solutions which were rolled out in the last months and to provide a comprehensive perspective on market trends for passenger processing.

The success of the meeting demonstrated IER’s unique ability to understand the changing needs of the market and to imagine innovative solutions to improve passenger processing through the airport, while at the same time improving efficiency and reducing costs for air transportation operators.

Micah Hankammer from Southwest Airlines commented “I really enjoyed the forum. I thought this was a great agenda and covered a good cross section of topics. It provided great information, both formally and informally. It was also a great meeting for networking with IER as well as other airlines.”

“IER is committed to supporting our customers and partners in this industry – airlines, airports, integrators and consultants – and to helping them deploy innovative solutions aimed at improving the passenger experience. We are currently seeing an abundance of new projects revolving around self-service and mobile solutions”, stated Herve Muller, IER Vice-President and General Manager for North America. “Our second North American Customer Forum hosted in Chicago was a real success. The attendance from all over the region exceeded our expectations and demonstrated a strong interest in self-tagging, bag drop off, NFC technology and self service for check-in and boarding, witnessing how important these topics are to our customers.”

At a time when the air transportation industry continues its effort to return to profitability, IER is committed to supporting airlines, airports and partners in redesigning their passenger process and deploying innovative technology to meet your present and future requirements.

IER is already planning to repeat such customer events in different locations in the world to share views with its customers and numerous industry leaders and debate on key topics such as:

  • Accelerating the move towards NFC, mobile payment and e-services
  • Increasing sales of ancillary services
  • Implementing self tagging and baggage drop off
  • Improving flows at immigration and security control
  • Enhancing and shortening the boarding process
