IER has been selected by LFV Group, the Swedish airport operator, to deploy 45 IER new generation self-service check-in kiosks at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.
In a recent contract, IER has been awarded by LFV Group, which operates many airports in Sweden, to supply a complete self-check-in solution including 45 self-service kiosks to be deployed in the three coming years. The LFV Group has decided to pursue the deployment of self check-in by multiplying the number of kiosks available to passengers at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport and has selected the new generation Common-Use Self-service kiosk IER 918 designed and manufactured by IER.
The IER 918 is the latest generation of Common Use Self-service Kiosks designed to meet the new challenges in passenger travel and take advantage of emerging trends such as e-ticketing, 2D bar-coded boarding passes, the ability to read e-passports and to check-in airline passengers with or without bags.
Besides the hardware, the solution which will be supplied by IER to LFV Group will include the IER CUSS platform and monitoring system and also an internet check-in access allowing passengers to check-in on the airlines’ internet sites. The IER monitoring system, which is a powerful supervision device, will allow LFV to supervise their kiosks operations by providing a real time overview of the entire kiosk installed base.
A first roll out of 10 kiosks is planned by mid-August. These kiosks, equipped with a full page passport reader, 2D bar code and card readers, a boarding pass printer and a finger print scanner, will offer self check-in operations to passengers travelling with Delta, Finnair, HögaKustenFlyg, Norwegian and several Charter companies.
As Self-service check-in application is now undergoing an accelerated phase, IER, which multiplies kiosks deployments at airports all over the world, is very proud to install Common Use Self-service kiosks at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. For many years, IER has been involved with IATA in creating the CUSS standard and has gained an extensive expertise in the field resulting in a comprehensive range of solutions including hardware, middleware and customized self-service applications.
