IER has deployed self-service check-in kiosks at Toulouse-Blagnac French Airport.
Toulouse-Blagnac airport, located in the south-west France, has selected the IER Common-Use Self-service platform to propose self-check-in solution to its passengers.
A series of IER 918 self-service kiosks is up and running since the beginning of March and the opening of the airport new D terminal. The IER 918 is the latest generation of Common Use Self-service Kiosks designed by IER to meet the new challenges in passenger travel and take advantage of emerging trends such as e-ticketing, 2D bar-coded boarding passes, the ability to read e-passports and to check-in airline passengers with or without bags.
IER has installed these self-service kiosks and also manages the installation of the airline applications, the monitoring service performed by the IER Monitoring Center (SMC) as well as onsite maintenance 7/7.
The IER monitoring system, which is a powerful supervision device, allows to supervise the kiosks operations by providing a real time overview of the entire kiosk installed base.
Laurent Verbiguie, IT Director - Aéroport de Toulouse-Blagnac, says : “This self-check-in kiosks deployment is totally consistent with the airport development strategy. The hall D, where most of the kiosks have been installed, almost doubles the total airport surface to enable us to welcome up to 8.5 million passengers by 2015-2020. We want the check-in operations to become as seamless as possible in this hall. Self-service is the ideal solution and we have convinced the airlines to share these kiosks. We have selected the IER 918 kiosk because of its performances, ease of use and design. The remote monitoring solution (IMS) proposed by IER allows an optimum availability of the kiosks.”
According to IATA, the CUSS is operational in over 130 airports worldwide, which attests to the maturity of the technology. As Self-service check-in application is now undergoing an accelerated phase, IER, which multiplies kiosks deployments at airports all over the world, is very proud to install Common Use Self-service kiosks at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport. For many years, IER has been involved with IATA in creating the CUSS standard and has gained an extensive expertise in the field resulting in a comprehensive range of solutions including hardware, middleware and customized self-service applications.
