The R&D team plays a key role in the development of the product line

R&D department (electronic, electrical, electro-mechanical, software and design) focus on:
- developing new products
- improving existing products
- adapting them to customers’ needs
- testing new materials and new components
- targeting cost reduction
They are designing new access control equipment integrating cutting-edge technologies (biometrics, bluetooth, card readers, etc.) which will be proposed to the market in the near future.

Testing new technologies

Automatic Systems actively participates in several trial sites testing new technologies dedicated to automating identity and security checks at several points of the passenger process while making them extremely safe.
The SNG 770, automated high-security portal developed by Automatic Systems, incorporates high security identification readers such as biometrics devices and aims to accelerate the boarding procedures while enforcing security rules as much as possible. It is presently on trial at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Volunteer passengers are given a smart card, containing data (identification number, name and passport expiry date) which matches those on their passport. This card can be considered as the precursor of the future e-passport and the SNG 770 is a real innovative solution for Automated Border Control in airports.
